Stan Allen is an architect, educator and writer from New York. After stepping down from the Princeton Deanship he relocated to a new studio in the Hudson River Valley. For his website we established a clean approach to show his current design work, now focused on projects for artist clients and a more direct engagement with the natural landscape.

In the work index we used a grid of Allen’s characteristic drawings in which the identity of his practice seems to condensate. A drawing that thinks the practice. Due to this importance of drawing and to his parallel careers, not only as practitioner but also as writer, we developed a small archive, inside the practice section, to show some of his most important drawings and publications since 1980.

Accompanying the site design and expanding the identity created in it, we designed a small graphic guide to cover the basic needs of the studio. This identity was based on the use of Diatype (Dinamo) a very clean and superbly well drawn font that matches Allen’s work, displaying a balance between a warm modernity and in a contemporary context.
