During the past fifty years, documentary photography and architecture have become increasingly interdependent, blurring the disciplinary boundary between the two. Seamless looks at the work of a new generation of European photographers and architects working together to produce images and architecture made from fragments of reality. At the same time, it investigates how shared digital technologies influence the creation of architecture and its photographic representation through images.

This book design was conceived as a container that could address the contemporary issues explored in Seamless. To achieve this, a combination of sans-serif typography (Marr Sans) and serif (Minion) used as two identities was used to compose and stitch together a fragmented and brutalist layout.

The book’s structure also emphasizes the significance of imagery within the study. Thus, in each chapter, preceding every written essay, there is a photographic essay where architectural works and photographic pieces intertwine, blurring their boundaries.

This project was designed by Luis Vassallo at 3TG Studio.
