Generaciones is the most consolidated Young Contemporary Art Prize of Spain. Held at La Casa Encendida, Generaciones have produced, exhibited and promoted the work of young artists since 2000.
The aim of the project was to create an editorial design rabidly contemporary and young. To achieve this, the design was conceived not as a neutral vessel but with its own defined identity, with a very marked aesthetic. Conceiving the graphic design not as an institutional container but as one more voice within its generation.
In the cover a pure black and white composition conceals the whole surface and, at the same time, the list of names of awarded artists is typesetted in Sporting Grotesque (Velvetyne). In this way, the combination of this neo-grotesk and the “horror vacui” composition seem to encapsulate the independent zeitgeist of the 2018 edition.
