Hirundinidae is the second album of Coffee & Wine a pioneer folk-indie band from Madrid.

This album, which draws its roots from both British folk and pop as well as country and Americana, is titled with the Latin name that denotes the swallow family, one of the few animals that manages to survive and coexist in the modern city.

Within the songs of the album, the interests of Ana Franco (the band’s frontwoman) are subtly and poetically presented. The city’s issues and the longing for the countryside intertwine in the emotional goldsmithing of the people who inhabit it.

For the LP design, the illustration was based on a pre-existing artistic work by Luis Vassallo, a canvas in which, through the fable of Zeuxis and Parrhasius, an ancient and precarious architecture extended across the canvas like a lattice against a blue sky.
